Katharine Baumgartner
Owner & President, Coastal Tide Consulting
Katharine has a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries & Wildlife Management from Michigan State University. Additionally, she completed a teacher certification course from the State College of Florida.
Katharine is an expert educator, children's marine science author, and the founder of Coastal Tide Consulting. With over 20 years of classroom experience, she currently serves as the foundational math teacher at Sky Academy Venice, specializing in fostering a deep, conceptual understanding of K-12 math, science, reading, and writing. Passionate about local education, Katharine helps Southwest Florida families maximize their academic success. When she isn't teaching, tutoring, or writing her upcoming book on sea otters, you can find her on the water as an avid dragon boat enthusiast. Let's go

Joseph Conner

Joseph Conner is an award-winning educator with 12 years of teaching experience in Sarasota County, where he currently teaches Algebra 1 Honors and Geometry Honors to advanced 7th and 8th graders. Originally from Colorado, Joseph earned his degree in Philosophy from the University of Northern Colorado before completing his Master of Arts in Teaching at Xavier University of Louisiana.
Recognized for his outstanding impact in the classroom, Joseph was named the Sarasota County Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2023 and received a prestigious Time Fellowship from the Barancik Foundation in 2024. He firmly believes that every student possesses an innate desire to learn and can achieve at the highest levels when provided with a supportive relationship, an engaging environment, and an inspiring teacher. Joseph lives locally in Venice, Florida, with his wife and their goldendoodle.
Melissa

Melissa has her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Salem State College along with her Master of Arts Degree in Human Relations and Counseling from
Liberty University. She is a Florida-licensed counselor and certified teacher in Elementary Education (K-6) and Guidance Counseling (K-12) with 20 years of experience helping children shine both academically and emotionally.
Specializing in elementary reading, writing, and foundational math, her warm and intuitive approach helps even the most hesitant learners feel capable, confident, and eager to grow. As a proud military veteran, she brings unique steadiness, reliability, and genuine heart to every tutoring session.
